The Somatic Approach:

Jarl Eivind Aspen brings a unique, somatic approach to the podium. Drawing on years of experience as a professional orchestral oboist, his conducting style is rooted in chamber-music collaboration, organic phrasing, and a deep understanding of the inner workings of orchestral sound.

Reanimating the Archive:

He specializes in reviving the elastic tempos, sweeping portamento, and raw emotional power found in archival recordings and historical rehearsal diaries. His vision is clear: to use philosophical insights as creative catalysts, allowing music to grow and expand beyond the printed score into living, breathing, and transformative experiences.
